Participants were invited to make individual or joint commitments to help achieve the Agenda for Humanity. In addition, they were invited to align themselves to 32 core commitments developed for the 7 High-level Leaders’ Roundtables of the World Humanitarian Summit. Global Compact Network Malaysia commits to working with the United Nations and other stakeholders to formalize a private sector network for disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, response and recovery in Malaysia as part of the Connecting Business initiative. Expanding on itscurrent initiatives on resilient supply chains, the network will be launched after the World Humanitarian Summit, with a work plan established for priority activities to build the capacity of businesses to withstand and recovery from disasters, as well as to contribute to the response and reconstruction efforts.
