In addition, they were invited to align themselves to 32 core commitments developed for the 7 High-level Leaders’ Roundtables of the World Humanitarian Summit. - GPE 2020's goals are increased equity, gender equality and inclusion. Key indicators of progress include: improved primary and lower secondary completion rates, total and by gender; reduced out of school rates, total and by gender; and improved national equity indicators, including gender. GPE 2020 also prioritizes strengthened education sector planning and policy implementation in countries affected by fragility and conflict, the impact of which is most severe on girls. Approximately 50% of GPE's support annually is to fragile and/or conflict affected countries.

Eliminate gaps in education for children, adolescents and young people

- GPE commits to work with partners to launch and operationalize Education Can't Wait, a new financing mechanism and platform to address the lack of sufficient and predictable financing for education in countries facing crises, including protracted crises that impact girls education to a significantly greater degree than boys. This new platform will be designed to increase the level, predictability and diversity of support to ensure the continuity of education in countries impacted by emergencies and/or protracted crises, and particularly will seek to ensure that such a platform supports the bridging of the humanitarian-development divide.
