Refugees
Youth Initiative for Developing in Africa (YIDA) constructed 3 additional classrooms in the refugee community school in the Kyaka II refugee camp in western Uganda.
YIDA also educated 500 refugee children aged 3 to 6 in early childhood education. All children at the school are provided with lunch while at school.

2. A. Please select no more than 3 key challenges faced in implementing the commitments related to this transformation. Only the categories selected by the organisation will be seen below.
- Funding amounts
B. How are these challenges impacting achievement of this transformation?
Less funding amounts limit YIDA to impact more numbers of children in the refugee camp. For example, YIDA needed to construct six more classrooms and employee ten workers to educate 800 refugee children. But due to insufficient funding, YIDA did not reach the target.
3. What steps or actions are needed to make collective progress to achieve this transformation?
Need for partnerships with other child-related organisations. Those organisations will help in training caregivers or funding the school construction.
YIDA also seeks more grants from different granters. YIDA requests if there is an opportunity that the organisation can utilise by applying to, YIDA shall be happy to apply.
