- Acknowledge the global public good provided by countries and communities which are hosting large numbers of refugees. Commit to providing communities with large numbers of displaced population or receiving large numbers of returnees with the necessary political, policy and financial, support to address the humanitarian and socio-economic impact. To this end, commit to strengthen multilateral financing instruments. Commit to foster host communities' self-reliance and resilience, as part of the comprehensive and integrated approach outlined in core commitment 1.

1. Highlight the concrete actions taken between 1 January – 31 December 2017 to implement the commitments which contribute to achieving this transformation. Be as specific as possible and include any relevant data/figures.
- Attending the Generation U.N. Members Day event and hosting a student workshop at Columbia University in February 2017 to have students interact and share best tips and tricks.
- Hosting a No Lost Generation Student Initiative Leadership Conference which brought together both Student Initiative leaders and actors in the public and private sphere. The conference featured well-known individuals in the refugee world such as Anne Richards (Former Assistant Secretary of Population, Refugees, and Migration) and Shelly Pitterman (VP of HIAS).
- Expanding the National Leadership to four network coordinators.
- Forming thirteen new student chapters across the country in fall 2017 through the Virtual Student Federal Service internship.
- Attending the UNA-USA 2018 Conference at the United Nations in February 2018. We held a second workshop at Fordham University to continue our conversation how to further the network.

B. How are you assessing whether progress on commitments is leading toward change in the direction of the transformation?
The No Lost Generation Student Initiative is assessing its progress on our commitments by keeping track and recording the number of chapters operating, number of volunteer hours per chapter, the number of dollars fundraised per chapter, and the number of events held by chapter. This information is collected through bi-weekly updates submitted by chapter leaders.

B. How are these challenges impacting achievement of this transformation?
- Chapters depend on university approval. These procedures slow down our network's ability to grow.
- Different organizations may not take our network seriously because we are students.
- The bi-weekly update system is not utilized by our chapters 100%, making it difficult to understand each part of the network.
4. Highlight actions planned for 2018 to advance implementation of your commitments in order to achieve this transformation.
As the No Lost Generation Student Initiative Network continues to grow, it expects to have more Virtual Student Federal Service internships available to students, and to continue to develop valuable, long-term partnerships with government agencies and NGOs such as the United States Department of State and UNHCR.
5. What steps or actions are needed to make collective progress to achieve this transformation?
An important step in achieving this transformation is to continue supporting student efforts in supporting refugees by providing legitimate opportunities to provide input. This will give students more agency and power in their decision making to support refugees. However, a key factor is to also allow the voices of refugees to rise, and provide agencies to refugees through streamlined processes. The best way to support refugees is through directly hearing their needs from them.
6. List any good practice or examples of innovation undertaken individually or in cooperation with others to advance this transformation.
At the end of each semester, the No Lost Generation Student Initiative Network evaluate the initiative through a survey to individual chapters to collect final fundraising and volunteer totals and assess areas with room for improvement.
