OCHA’s new Centre for Humanitarian Data aims to improve aid response
Category | Story
OCHA recently opened the Centre for Humanitarian Data in The Hague, in partnership with the Netherlands, to connect people in crises with data, and to move towards more evidence-based and data-driven humanitarian action. The centre will manage the Humanitarian Data Exchange, OCHA’s open platform for accessing, sharing and using data from hundreds of organizations and dozens of humanitarian emergencies such as Yemen, Somalia and the Rohingya refugee crisis. The aim is to speed up the flow of data from collection to use so that aid groups will have access to timely information about often rapidly evolving situations.
