    The Buenos Aires City Legislature intends to work in parallel to major regulatory reforms and urban renewal projects as specific bills to solve urgent problems.

  • Achievements at a glance

    Achievements include:
    - Approved Fire Information Database Act.
    - Approved Act of Adhesion of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires to the United Nations campaign of Resilient Cities.
    Both projects approved as laws are from Deputy Fuks.

  • What led your organization to make the commitment?

    Buenos Aires City Legislature has a legislation that was imposed during dictatorship times and has not been changed since.

  • Achievements at a glance

    A bill was presented by Mr. Fuks to the Buenos Aires City Legislature to create a comprehensive disaster risk management system. It is currently being reviewed by the Security Commission. As the national legislation for Disaster Risk Management and Civil Protection System has passed, another bill has been presented by Mr. Fuks to adhere the Buenos Aires City Legislature to the new law.

Core Commitment

  • What led your organization to make the commitment?

    The City of Buenos Aires has illegal and irregular settlements in informal neighborhoods without the minimum conditions of habitability or security. The approval of the regularization of this situation must be a law of the legislature.

  • Achievements at a glance

    Legislation was approved for the urbanization of four emergency slums, in which people are also relocating and building decent housing. The four informal neighborhoods are: Rodrigo Bueno, Fraga, Villa 31 and Villa 20.

Core Commitment

  • What led your organization to make the commitment?

    Informal neighborhoods called emergency villas are the most vulnerable to the risk of natural disasters and those with the worst living conditions and conditions of education and health.

  • Achievements at a glance

    Buenos Aires City Legislature was chosen to approve urbanization bills in four emergency villas to invest local economic resources to improve the lives of the most needy population. Work has begun in the four emergency areas.
